In the fierce final stage, our women's music team's opponent, the Netherlands, is regarded as the world's No. 1, with previous records of fourth and third place respectively. And today, they are expected to reach the top again. The performance of our women's song was equally wonderful. In only six minutes, Chen Yi scored the No. 7 goal for China's women's song with a wonderful shot. This 1:0 score we kept for 51 minutes. Since her goal, our women's song started a tug-of-war between defense and counterattack, trying to keep the victory.
For the first 51 minutes of the game, the women were outstanding. However, regrettably, after holding on for more than half an hour, they were unable to maintain their lead. When there was still 9 minutes and 16 seconds left in the last quarter of the game, a foul by our women's songwriters gave their opponents their fourth short corner kick. In the end, the Dutch were able to tie the game 1-1 on that possession. After that, neither team broke through and the game went to penalty kicks.
In the penalty shootout, our goalkeeper Ye Jiao failed to create a miracle. The Dutch team hit three out of four shots on goal, while our women's song scored only once out of four shots on goal, and finally lost 1-3 in the penalty shootout, regrettably winning the silver medal. What is more regrettable is that in the last moment of the game, our women's song had a chance to win the game, but a major controversial decision of the European referee made them miss the last chance to kill.
At that point, there were 40.3 seconds left in the game. The referee first awarded us a short corner kick. Originally, our women's soccer team could have ended the game with a short corner kick in this round. However, after an appeal review by the Dutch Women's Zone, the referee changed his decision and canceled our short corner kick opportunity. This was too much. The referee's controversial decision made our women's song miss the last chance to kill the game.
After the game, the girls of our women's song were in tears on the spot, and many of them embraced each other. Looking at them, we also felt very sad. Not being able to beat the world's No. 1 doesn't mean losing face. 16 years later, our women's song broke into the Olympic final again, and 16 years later, they won the silver medal again, which is the best performance in the history of our women's song. Although only one step away from the gold medal, their performance deserves our respect. Even though they lost, the girls of women's opera took the initiative to give thanks with tears in their eyes and left with dignity.
Against the tide, all the way to the flowers, the pride of China. We look forward to seeing the Chinese women's opera next time and witnessing their splendor once again.
