In the early hours of the morning, the first round of the Olympic men's soccer group stage, Argentina unexpectedly 1-2 defeat Morocco, suffered the opening of the door not red. The battle, dramatic and full of drama, let the audience witnessed an unprecedented scene of the game!
Argentina scored a goal in the 16th minute of extra time to seemingly equalize, but the ball went out of the allotted extra time. Before the referee could blow the whistle or activate the VAR, Moroccan fans flooded onto the pitch, causing chaos and even the throwing of debris. The match was suspended, players retreated to the locker room, and the crowd thought the match would end in a 2-2 draw. However, the officials announced that the game was to continue, and after a wait of more than two hours, it was eventually decided that Argentina's goal was invalid, due to offside. The match was restarted and the referee called the game in an almost empty stadium, with Argentina losing 1-2.
Argentina's Lionel Messi was shocked by the result, posting a status on social media with just the word "rare", a black background and a surprised emoji.
The news quickly sparked a buzz among fans. One fan exclaimed, "This is the first time I've encountered this."
Another fan chimed in, "I really didn't think even Messi hadn't experienced this kind of scene, I thought I hadn't watched enough football."
