Miguel Gutiérrez, the 22-year-old Spanish left back, has already made his name on the roster of the Spanish men's soccer team for the Paris Olympics. At the moment, he is in Madrid, alongside the Spanish national Olympic team, preparing for the games.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid has an €8 million transfer fee to buy back Gutierrez, who is currently waiting for a decision from Real Madrid, along with his team.
Gutierrez, who came through Real Madrid's youth academy and was successfully promoted to the first team in the 2022-23 season, joined Girona in the summer of 2022 for a transfer fee of €4 million (including half ownership) while retaining an €8 million buy-back clause. If Real Madrid do not buy him back in this summer window, Gutierrez's value in the 2025 summer window will rise to €6 million. Any team other than Real Madrid that wants to sign Gutierrez will have to activate a release clause of up to €35 million.
Gutiérrez is a 1.80-meter tall, left-footed general who plays mainly as a left back but also as a left midfielder. His contract with Girona will continue until 2027. Currently, Gutierrez is valued at 25 million euros in Germany. Last season, Gutierrez played 40 games for Girona, starting 39 of them, contributing 2 goals and 9 assists. In 35 games in La Liga, he even delivered 2 goals and 7 assists, and was selected as the best team in the 2023-24 La Liga official selection. Thus, Gutierrez is undoubtedly the No. 1 left back in La Liga.
