On June 26th, Bayern Munich officially played a parting tune, announcing that the team's senior team doctor, Prof. Holger Broich, will conclude his deep collaboration with the team on July 1st.

Bayern's official website paints a sincere picture of Broich's career, as since July 2014 the 49-year-old medical doctor has held the reins of the first team's science, performance diagnostics and fitness departments, as well as taking charge of the youth team's health affairs across the board.

"For ten years, Holger Broich has been with Bayern and has been a witness to one of the most successful decades in the team's history. He combines scientific wisdom with top expertise, covering everything from player performance diagnosis to training management and the development of young talent. This restructuring marks a complete revolution in our field of expertise, which is very different from last season. We are grateful for Broich's unprecedented achievements and his dedication and wish him all the best for the future."

Broich also expressed his gratitude and reluctance to Bayern: "In ten years, I am honored to be the witness of this series of brilliant achievements. I sincerely thank Bayern for their support, encouragement and trust over the years, and wish the club continued splendor in the future."

Broich began his career at the German Sports University in Cologne, specializing in training and performance studies, earning a degree in sports science. After graduating, he started his career at Leverkusen, where he worked as a senior sports scientist, fitness and rehabilitation coach from 2003 to 2014.In the 2014-15 season, he moved to Bayern, where he had full responsibility for science, performance diagnostics and training from the professional to the youth teams.

During his years at Bayern, the team won nine consecutive Bundesliga crowns, the UEFA Champions League, the Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup, as well as three German Cups and six German Super Cups.
