Beijing Youth Daily is reporting that Chinese Football Association (CFA) boss Song Kai will soon set foot in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the upcoming AFC General Assembly and FIFA General Assembly. At that time, Song Kai will be involved in the fierce competition for the right to host the 2027 Women's World Cup.
Song Kai, along with his three assistants, departed from Beijing on the evening of May 14 and flew directly to Bangkok. They will be attending the 34th Asian Football Association (AFA) General Assembly and the 74th International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) General Assembly, which will be held on May 16th and 17th respectively.
It is reported that the AFC will unveil the new name of the reformed and upgraded AFC's new three-tier men's professional club international tournament at its 16th General Meeting, and will elect two new Executive Committee members through a vote.
In the 17th FIFA General Assembly, there will be a major event - to decide the organizers of the 2027 Women's World Cup. FIFA recently announced that the evaluation report has been released, a total of two bids through the "minimum hosting requirements" screening. One of the bids was submitted by Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, while the other was submitted by the Brazilian Football Association. 211 international soccer associations have been invited, including the Chinese Football Association (CFA). Song Kai will lead a delegation to cast a key vote for Chinese soccer at the meeting on the 17th.
For Songkai, this trip to Bangkok is much more than just fulfilling conference duties. We will take this opportunity to gain insight into the latest pulse of international and Asian soccer, broaden communication channels with the FIFA, AFC and other key member associations, and strive for a better external development environment for our soccer.
