
Andre Villas-Boas elected Porto president
On April 28th, Beijing time, Portuguese manager Andre Villas-Boas, who has been at the helm of Chelsea in the English Premier League and Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League, was crowned the 32nd president of FC Porto, who will lead the club until 2028.
Andre Villas-Boas, born in October 1977, was the youngest coach in history to lead Porto to the UEFA Cup in 2011. Since then, he has played for a number of top soccer clubs including Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Zenit St. Petersburg and Shanghai SIPG.
Villas-Boas was involved in the race for the Porto presidency and came out on top, ending the 42-year reign of former president Pinto da Costa.
