In a March 10 report, a SimonBBC reporter cited an article by Stone stating that the direction of Ten Hahn's career at United is uncertain and that his stay or departure does not appear to be directly linked to the team's bid to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Although Sir Ratcliffe has emphasized the importance of reaching the Champions League, Ten Hahn's stay or departure is not actually determined by whether United win a ticket to next season's Champions League.
The club structure is currently undergoing a transformation as the Inrix Group is managing Manchester United's footballing affairs, with Sir Dave Brailsford's frequent attendance at matches and covert energy. Berrada, who is due to officially take over as United's CEO in the summer, is seen as a key personnel change with his wealth of experience gained during his time at City Football Group and Manchester City, including men's and women's soccer operations and transfer dealings.
It was expected that Newcastle director Ashworth would join United to work hand in hand with Berrada. However, United are insisting that they do not pay Ashworth £20m in compensation, despite the widely held belief that United may end up paying for it, as they did in the previous compensation deal agreed when they hired Berrada.
As well as Ashworth, Southampton's Wilcox and Crystal Palace's Friedman have also been mooted as potential candidates for United.
Simon Stone also mentioned that there is still a possibility that ten Hahn will remain in charge next season, considering the negative impact that sacking the manager could have on the club's finances, as well as the change in management's viewpoints within Manchester United.
