Shenhua's new internationals to assemble and debut on Jan. 27, Eastern Sports Daily reveals Slutsky's new plan
Shanghai Shenhua will welcome a new current international player to their January 27th training session, according to Oriental Sports Daily's Li Bing. The national team players will follow coach Slutsky in a fierce competition for the post after the Asian Cup tournament.
After the trip from Shenzhen to Shanghai, Shenhua players were given a valuable two-day vacation, which was a rare adjustment for them after continuous fighting.
China's failure to qualify for the group stage of the Asian Cup and their early return to China is unexpected good news for Shenhua's manager Slutsky. If China had made it to the round of 16 or even the last 8, Shenhua players would have delayed their return to China until the end of January or the beginning of February, and could have missed the first match of the Equalizer Invitational Tournament. Slutsky no longer needs to keep an eye on his players' performance.
In order to speed up the integration of new players, Coach Slutsky arranged training at Kangqiao base. He not only paid attention to the physical condition of the players, but also arranged business studies to ensure that the players could quickly adapt to the tactical requirements.
Despite the cancellation of the match of Riyadh Victory, the return of the national team players was earlier than expected and the rhythm of the team's preparation was not much affected. Coach Slutsky will use the warm-up matches to adjust the players' form and to sharpen the starting line-up.
Shenhua are actively bringing in new internal and external reinforcements, and if all goes well, the new internationals will be unveiled at the assembly on the 27th.
With the addition of the national soccer team and new foreign aid, Coach Slutsky feels both the joy of a "strong army" and the sweet worry of "selection". With a number of contenders for almost every position in the Shenhua team, Slutsky's task is much more than just picking 11 starters.
Slutsky believes that every player is vital to the team and his goal is to have every player on the team.
