On the basis of friendly consultation and agreement, Ibán Cuadrado, a famous Spanish soccer player, will take charge of the first team of Wuxi Wuhu Football Club with immediate effect.
Born on February 21, 1979, Iban grew up in the La Masia youth camp, where he played alongside talented players such as Xavi and Iniesta. He started his professional career at Barcelona and played for clubs such as Morcia, Málaga and Rayo Vallecano, before embarking on a journey to China in 2013, joining Shanghai Dongya, and then moving to Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng in 2015, where he helped the team reach the Chinese Super League the following year.
In 2017, Iban officially hung up his boots and retired from coaching, launching his coaching career in Murcia.In 2018, he returned to his hometown of Barcelona as an assistant coach for the U17 and U18 teams, helping the team win the U17 and U18 league titles.From 2021 to 2023, he served as Barcelona's U18 Head Coach, earning his UEFA Professional Coaching Certificate and leading the team to win the Indonesia U18 International Championship and U18MIC International Championship.
