In the chronology of February 21, a bombshell from the English version of the Korea JoongAng Daily broke: former South Korean national team boss Jurgen Klinsmann left his post, and rumor has it that he will quickly land in Chinese football to fill the vacancy in the coaching staff of the national football team left by Jankovic.
According to the Korean media disclosure, has just been the South Korean Football Association "swept out" of Klinsmann, its name has quietly appeared in the Chinese Football Association's national team coach alternative list. The title reads: "Jurgen Klinsmann is expected to coach the Chinese team". Since China's men's soccer team went out of the Asian Cup in the group stage last month, Jankovic was dismissed (note: the CFA has not yet officially confirmed the dismissal), the coach of the national soccer team has been unresolved.
After the suspension of the Asian Cup round of 8, Klinsmann was officially terminated by the Korean Football Association on the 16th of this month, and his coaching results failed to meet expectations. The German manager left only 5 days later, seems to be ready to become the new helmsman of the Chinese men's soccer team through a "lightning transfer". The CFA is reportedly willing to cover Klinsmann's salary, which was around 2.9 billion won (15.45 million yuan) when he was with the South Korean national team.
Despite the interest shown by the CFA, it is still unknown whether Klinsmann will really be able to coach the national soccer team. In addition to Klinsmann, former Qatari coach Queiroz and former Omani coach Ivankovic, have also emerged as potential candidates for the CFA.
It is worth mentioning that Klinsmann had been one of the favorites for the selection of the national football team back in 2019. Last November, Klinsmann led the South Korean men's soccer team in the 36-team tournament, defeating the Jankovic-coached national soccer team outright with a 3-0 victory on the road in Shenzhen.
