Asian Cup and the performance of Chinese Super League teams

The Asian Cup is in full swing, and the smoke from the eighth-quarter finals has not yet cleared. Although our national soccer team has returned to China, there are still some Chinese Super League (CSL) teams active in the West Asia battlefield, namely the three giants of Wuhan. The former Chinese Super League champions, now in the Dubai Cup performance is saddening, two losses, to 1-3 and 0-1 score ended up in fourth place, can be described as "West Asia's defeat" reproduced.

For Wuhan's three giants, the trip to West Asia was a warm-up, but exposed the team's problems. Participating in the Dubai Cup meant that the team got a high level of training, but in the first match against the Jeddah national team, they were ahead for a while, but lost by a score of 1-3. The first loss of the West Asia tour brought the team's journey in the Dubai Cup to an abrupt end.

In the second match, Wuhan's three giants encountered a Moroccan team with a strong starting lineup, with Efirdin, Tao Qianglong and other starters on the pitch. However, only 26 minutes into the game, Athletic Lagarde broke the deadlock by virtue of tacit cooperation, Wuhan three giants of the goalkeeper made a mistake, giving away a penalty kick, the opponent a cue. In the stands, Moroccan fans were excited.

Although the three Wuhan giants created many threats during the game, chances were few and far between as they lost 0-1, missing out on the third place and finishing in fourth place. In a tournament with only four teams, they became the bottom two.

The national team had a similarly uneventful trip to the Asian Cup, losing all three matches and finishing third in the group stage. Now, the Chinese Super League team is also experiencing difficulties at the club level. This undoubtedly means that our country's soccer is lagging behind on all fronts. But losing is not terrible, the key lies in whether we can face up to our own shortcomings, have the courage to face and admit. As long as we find the right path of development, Chinese soccer still has a chance to rise in Asia. However, at present, we must address is a clear development plan and reasonable strategy, otherwise the road to soccer recovery is long.
