Looking back at the 2023 season, Dalian ended up in the bottom two in the fierce Chinese Super League, regretting to be relegated to the Central League. As previously reported, a total of 50 clubs qualified for the third tier of Chinese soccer last season. However, shockingly, nine of those 50 clubs failed to find their names on the FA's first-time admission list, including one Chinese Super League club, three Chinese First Division clubs and five Chinese Second Division clubs.
