On December 18, Croatian soccer powerhouse Osijek officially announced that 27-year-old midfielder Ivan Fioric is about to step into the Chinese Super League arena and join Tianjin Jinmen Tigers.
The move marks the official kick-off of the new Chinese Super League season for reinforcements. Osijek's official announcement revealed that Fioric has peacefully terminated his contract with the team and has now signed with Tianjin Teda as a free agent.
Fiorici expressed his expectations for his new owner: "I signed a two-year contract with Zimtigers and will join the team in training on January 3rd. I am eager to continue my career there beyond the term of my contract."
The 27-year-old Croatian midfielder, who comes from the Dinamo Zagreb youth academy and has moved through clubs such as Dinamo Zagreb, Lokomotiv Zagreb, Henck, Larnaca and Krakowija in his career, joined Osijek as a free agent in the summer of 2021. This season, Fioric has appeared in 15 games for Osijek, contributing two goals and one assist. He is currently valued at around €850,000 on the market.
In addition, Fioric has been a core player for Croatia's national team at U21 and below levels, but unfortunately, he has not been able to represent the adult national team so far.
