AFC Champions League: Super League trio win together, Wuhan's three towns win for the first time in history, followed by Zhejiang and Shandong

On the night of October 25th, Wuhan Three Town ushered in a victory in the AFC Champions League, which was the first AFC Champions League victory in their team's history. Hot on their heels, Zhejiang and Shandong Taishan also won in this round of AFC Champions League matches, as the Chinese Super League teams ushered in a long overdue common victory in the AFC Champions League.

Wuhan Three Town beat Hanoi of Vietnam 2-1 at home on October 24, with goals from Wei Shihao and Malcolm giving the team this historic victory. The following day, Zhejiang beat Kofu Fenglin 2-0 with goals from foreigners Mu Xiekui and Lucas. Shandong Taishan, on the other hand, beat Incheon United 2-0, with Fellaini and Cressan scoring for the team.

Despite all three teams winning in the same round, only Shandong Taishan are currently leading the AFC Champions League group standings and are expected to hit the knockout stage. Zhejiang is still in last place in the group, and Wuhan Sanzhen is in third place, so the prospect of getting out of the group is not optimistic.

The three teams scored a total of 6 goals in this round of matches, but only 1 goal was scored by a local player, a statistic that makes fans feel worried about next month's World Qualification Tournament. It is worth mentioning that only 1 Chinese player scored in this round of matches.

"Five of the six goals were scored by foreigners, and after all these years it seems like everyone thinks that's okay."

Even more embarrassingly, Shanghai Seaport, ranked first in the Chinese Super League, unexpectedly exited the AFC Champions League playoffs, with the team's international players not even getting a chance to work on their Asian game. With all three teams winning at the same time this time, Seaport's loss was inevitably brought up by fans.

By contrast, the league champions have been disappointing.

"It's embarrassing to see who's missing when you're winning."
