
On September 5th, the Qingdao Chengyang District Government was ablaze with lights as the signing ceremony for the Hongqiao Cup - America's Team China Tour (Qingdao Region) took place. This historic moment not only marked the Panamanian national team's upcoming trip to China, but also confirmed Qingdao as one of their stops on the trip, where they will play a friendly match against Qingdao Hainiu in the Youth Soccer Stadium on November 14th, a match that will undoubtedly be the best tribute to the 30th anniversary of the founding of Qingdao Hainiu.
Looking back to 2023, just as Qingdao Manatee Football Club is celebrating its golden year, this friendly match has undoubtedly become a surprise for its 30th birthday. Founded in 1937, the Panamanian national team, a member of the North and Central American and Caribbean Football Association, broke into the World Cup in Russia in 2018 with a 45th-place finish in the latest FIFA world rankings.
Qingdao Hainiu, a veteran of the Chinese soccer scene for many years, finally returned to the bosom of the Chinese Super League in the 2023 season after a decade of ups and downs. Now, halfway through the Chinese Super League, Qingdao Hainiu is ranked 13th with 6 wins, 5 draws and 13 losses, scoring 26 goals and conceding 33, with 23 points, showing an indomitable spirit.
As the final chapter of the Chinese Super League season is about to draw to a close on November 4, Qingdao Manatees will face off against the Panama National Team. This matchup at the Youth Football Stadium will provide fans with an exciting soccer feast over the next 10 days.
