A star-studded Grimaldi Forum in Monaco kicked off the 2023 UEFA Gala in the early hours of the morning. Pep Guardiola was crowned Male Coach of the Year, Spanish star Bon Mattei was named Best Female Footballer and German legend Jurgen Klose won the President's Award.

Pep Guardiola: The King of Manchester City

In the 2022-23 season, Pep Guardiola led Manchester City to win the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League, becoming the second team in the history of English soccer to achieve triple crown supremacy after Manchester United, and the first time in the history of the English Premier League to achieve three consecutive titles. Manchester City won the Champions League trophy for the first time in its history.

Bomati: Pioneer of Western Women's Soccer

Bon Mattei's performance in the last season was amazing. In 36 games for Barcelona, she scored 16 goals and dished out 18 assists, helping the team win both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League. Bon Mattei won the Women's World Cup earlier this year and was named Player of the Tournament for Spain. She was up against stiff competition from Chelsea's Cole and Real Madrid's Carmona.

Wegman: England women's football's leading light

Although Wegmann failed to lead England to victory in the 2023 Women's World Cup, his achievements are there for all to see. Last year, Wegmann led England to their first ever Women's European Cup. Earlier this year, he led England to the World Cup final, but lost 0-1 to Spain to finish second.

Klose: UEFA President's Award winner

The award is like a lifetime achievement award, and Klose is the only one to receive the honor. Previously, Beckham, Totti, Drogba and other football celebrities have received this honor.
