Insiders have revealed that last season's Chinese Super League (CSL) champions Wuhan Sanzhen are plotting to sign former superstar Malcolm Malcolm. It is speculated that the two teams have a bright future together. For their part, the Saudi clubs seem to be open to Malcolm's return.
Looking back at last season, Malcolm Malcolm's outstanding performance has contributed to Wuhan Three Town's pride in the Chinese Super League. The 1994 Brazilian star has been on a hot streak since joining the CSL and has delivered 11 goals in 13 starts since joining Wuhan Sanzhen in 2021. Since joining Wuhan Sanzhen in 2021, he has delivered an impressive 11 goals in 13 starts, and in the 2022 season, he topped the scoring charts with a perfect 27 goals and 2 assists in 20 starts, and also contributed to the team's championship victory.
Nonetheless, Malcolm moved to Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Nationals in search of a higher salary after enjoying glory. His experience playing in the K-League has given him a good understanding of the Asian game. But this summer, Jeddah Nationals embarked on a reinforcement frenzy, bringing in Liverpool winger Firmino, Newcastle & Manchester City wingers St. Maximan and Mahrez. The strength and seniority of these players clearly exceeds that of Malcolm, causing him to feel increased pressure.
Malcolm is eager to return to the Chinese Super League and his agency team is actively seeking options. This season, Wuhan Sanzhen brought in South Korean center back Park Ji Joo and loaned Shandong Taishan youngster Duan Liu Yu. Given that Tao Qianglong will be playing for the national team and Wei Shihao is resting from suspension, the team is more likely to bring in Malcolm. Malcolm himself wants to leave the Saudi League and return to the Land of Glory, making a move much more likely.
If Malcolm succeeds in returning to Wuhan Three Town, it will undoubtedly help the team to maintain their AFC Champions League record this season, to qualify for next season and to achieve another success in the FA Cup.
