After Evergrande Group withdrew its capital, "Guangzhou Football Park" replaced the name of the original Evergrande Football Stadium. The latest news is that the construction of this project will be restarted soon. However, this news is not entirely encouraging, because after the resumption of construction, the size of the soccer stadium has been significantly reduced, the original concept of 100,000 people to 75,000 people, meaning that there are 25,000 fewer seats.

Even so, at 75,000 seats, this soccer stadium will still be the largest in China and the second largest professional soccer stadium in Asia. The most expensive construction at the bottom has been completed and it is expected that this new modern soccer stadium will become a new landmark in Guangzhou.

Recalling the grand blueprint of Evergrande Group's investment in the construction of this soccer stadium, I cannot help but feel a touch of embarrassment. At that time, we aspired to build the top soccer stadium in Asia, not only with a large spectator capacity, but also to make it a world-class complex integrating sports, culture and commerce, incorporating all kinds of novel business forms to meet the diversified leisure and entertainment needs of fans.

And now that the project has been acquired, its format includes apartments, offices, a hotel, and a sports complex. While we're not sure exactly what this sports complex consists of, perhaps it partially retains Evergrande's original vision.

In any case, the re-launch of the project is good news for football-loving fans. Whether you're a Guangzhou fan or a fan of another Chinese Super League team, there's a chance you'll be able to witness your favorite team play on this stadium in the future and experience the live atmosphere for yourself.

The news of the project's impending relaunch has sparked a hot debate among fans. Some regretted Evergrande's withdrawal, while others questioned the identity of the new owners. Currently, the Guangzhou team has been relegated to the Central League, and it is unclear when they will return to the Super League. The newly formed Guangzhou Leopards are also playing in the Central League, and even if they are promoted every year, they won't have a chance to challenge for the Super League until 2026.

Even without the Guangzhou soccer team, the stadium may host concerts and other entertainment events. Many fans are looking forward to Guangzhou's rise to the Chinese Super League, where they might be able to set up their home stadium. After all, that is exactly why Evergrande built this soccer stadium in the first place.
