Leaders Wang Frost, Zhang Linyan, Wang Shanshan, Wu Haiyan and Tang Jiali led the way as China's women's soccer team recently unveiled its 23-player squad for this summer's World Cup, while Zhao Yujie and Shen Menglu regretted being left out.

The detailed list is as follows -

Goalkeepers: Zhu Yu, Xu Huan, Pan Hongyan

Defenders: Wu Haiyan, Yao Wei, Wang Linlin, Gao Chen, Chen Qiaozhu, Li Mengwen, Dou Jaxing

Midfield: Zhang Rui, Yao Lingwei, Gu Yasha, Zhang Xin, Yang Lina, Wu Chengshu, Zhang Linyan, Shen Mengyu

Forward: Wang Shanshan, Wang Frost, Tang Jiali, Xiao Yuyi, Lou Jiahui

July 28, 18: China Women's Soccer vs. Haiti

August 1, 18: China Women's Football vs. England

It is worth mentioning that some of the players who failed to be selected, such as Li Yanfei and Fang Jie, have returned to the club, and Yang Qian said goodbye to the women's soccer training due to injury. Zhao Yujie and Shen Menglu, two players who returned from overseas, also chose to withdraw from the national team, deciding not to play with the team in the Women's World Cup.

However, the 23-player roster is not ironclad. The Chinese women's soccer team still retains a contingency plan, in the event that a player is injured, the list will be adjusted accordingly.

According to the plan, the Chinese women's soccer team will depart from Guangzhou to Australia on July 7th. Wang Frost, who is playing in the United States, will fly directly to Australia to join the team. The Chinese women's soccer team will form a delegation of about 46 people for this trip to Australia. Sun Wen, vice president of the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and a well-known women's soccer player in the international soccer world, will also be invited to observe the Women's World Cup and cheer for the women's soccer players.

On July 13 and July 17, the Chinese women's football team will play warm-up matches against the world's No. 8 Brazilian women's football team and the world's No. 25 Colombian women's football team on the Gold Coast and Sydney. on July 22, the Chinese women's football team will officially embark on the World Cup journey. The group stage opener will be against Denmark in Perth, before facing Haiti on July 28 in Adelaide and continuing on August 1 against England in Adelaide.
