In a May 26th news, we learned that Chevron's Greater China Fuel and Lubricants Business Marketing Director Yu Shaoli was interviewed by Punch News, and his views on sponsoring the Chinese Super League were quite profound.
Recall that Chevron signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Chinese Super League last December. Yu Shaoli revealed, "Standing on the height of brand strategy, we had to pick a sports sponsorship program with a wide audience. In China, soccer is undoubtedly the top choice." He is confident that as time goes by, sports will see a wider world of development. Yu Shao Li predicts, "Consumer enthusiasm for sports and soccer will gradually rise."
Talking about the future cooperation, Yu Shao Li is full of confidence: "We have signed a three-year cooperation agreement with CSL, aiming to support the development of the league and Chinese soccer more effectively, and to establish a deep emotional bond with the fans."
In the first eight rounds of this season's Chinese Super League, the average number of spectators reached about 20,000 people. Yu Shao Li said: "The heat and speed of recovery of this year's ball market is beyond our expectation, and so far, we have made the right choice. Both the spectacle of the opening ceremony and the heat on social media in cities such as Chengdu and Shanghai have far exceeded our expectations."
Faced with the issue of cost recovery, Yu Shaoli admits: "In reality, I don't think there is a need to be overly concerned about revenue. Given the influence of the CSL in China and our commitment to the long-term development of the league, we remain confident in the overall revenue of the brand. The development of soccer is a long journey and we are ready to work hand in hand with Chinese soccer."
Yan Peixue, Deputy General Manager of CSL, concluded by thanking the sponsors: "We sincerely thank them for their support of the league. At a time when Chinese professional soccer is facing many challenges, such support is especially important. The full restoration of home and away matches in the league this year is not only a restoration, but also a rebuilding."
Yan Peixue also emphasized that the league and the clubs attach great importance to daily communication, rights realization and innovative interaction in their cooperation with sponsors. They are committed to optimizing services, focusing on details and actively innovating interactions to ensure an all-round cooperation between online and offline to live up to sponsors' expectations of the league.
