As the years rolled by in the golden age of soccer, a host of returnees flooded into the Chinese Super League, each with a hefty paycheck, but Dai Weijun stood out from the rest. At the age of 23, the star of tomorrow has emerged as the centerpiece of the national soccer team's midfield. Dai Weijun spent ten years of his youth in England, where he was baptized by the British youth training system. At the age of twenty, he returned to his homeland, joined the Shenzhen team, rooted in Pengcheng, and eventually won the opportunity to play for his country.

However, Dai Weijun did not enjoy a high salary after his return to China, and reporter Cheng Wenli revealed that his salary was the lowest among the Shenzhen team at that time. Obviously, Dai's wish was not money, but to play for the national soccer team and move his household registration to the mainland. With his ability and family background, Dai Weijun's annual salary climbed year by year until 2022, when he climbed to the top of the team's salary, but despite this, he never had the luxury of a high salary.

Since the 2022 season, the Shenzhen team has been caught in a quagmire of unpaid wages, and Dai Weijun has not been spared. In the face of unpaid wages, Dai Weijun stood up to the team and broke with the team, but the arbitration application was rejected, and the management of the Shenzhen Football Club even put pressure on him. Nevertheless, after his first break with the team, Dai still resolutely honored his contract and represented the team in the Chinese Super League, and played 20 games in the 2022 season, starting 12 games, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists.

In the 2023 season, Dai Weijun was once again at odds with Shamrock, but was still unable to break free. He publicly revealed his entanglements with the team, and during the winter window, despite offers from European teams, the transfer was put on hold due to the fact that he was unable to make a free transfer. It was reported that Dai Weijun's agent planned to facilitate his return to Europe during the summer window, and during the winter window, he was once operated to Beijing Guoan, but key aspects of the negotiation broke down; and then close to joining Shanghai Shenhua, however, Shenhua's boss's vote of veto, so that he had to continue to stay in the Shamrocks.

As the Super League 2023 season approaches, Dai Weijun has registered to play despite having broken with the team. In the long run, Dai Weijun has made a wise choice. As a key attacking midfielder for the national team, he must compromise for the future of the national team, such as the Asian Games, Asian Cup and study abroad program, to continue to stay competitive for Shenzhen despite the struggles.

In a WeChat conversation with Cheng Wenli, Dai Weijun appeared helpless, saying he was speechless at the current situation and couldn't even believe the outcome. Cheng Wenli encouraged him, "Your burden will eventually turn into a gift, and the pain will light up your path. Go for it, Dai Weijun! The direction against the wind is better for flying!" Fortunately, Dai Weijun's contract is not long. His contract with SZF will expire on December 31, 2023, and his future is still full of uncertainties, so the chances of him stepping onto the European stage again in early 2024 are quite high.
