After the transfer fiasco of Dursun, Douglas Tank and Avel Hernandez, Changchun Yatai has finally locked down a foreign striker! According to Brazilian media reporter Felipe Silva, the 25-year-old Lennardo will play for Changchun Yatai on a season-long loan from Shandong Taishan.

Lennardo played for Ulsan Hyundai on loan from Shandong Taishan last season. Under Korean manager Hong Myung-bok, he scored 14 goals and 6 assists in 43 games, making him the team's second top scorer. Led by the likes of Lennardo and Yoon Won, Ulsan Hyundai snapped years of embarrassment without a title, eventually defeating Jeonbuk Hyundai in the league to win the third trophy in the team's history.

The Splendor of Leonardo

Nevertheless, Ulsan Hyundai did not choose to buy out Lennardo at the end of the season, and Shandong Taishan's foreign aid quota was also exhausted, so Lennardo had to face the fate of being rented out again. In fact, when Lennardo was still playing for São Paulo, Shandong Taishan had thrown an olive branch to him and expressed their willingness to bear most of his salary; however, with the joining of Caleri and the loan of Eriksson, São Paulo's interest in Lennardo has greatly diminished. As for the loan of Lennardo, naturally, it is insignificant.

Lennardo has recently arrived in China and started his personal training at the Shandong Taishan base. His future is finally settled until the start of the new Chinese Super League season. According to Felipe Silva, Lenardo will sign a season-long loan deal with Changchun Yatai. To keep costs down, Yatai plan to use four foreigners (Lennardo, Serginho, Zui, Okore) for the first half of the 2023 season.
