During last year's Euros, UEFA licensed national captains to wear rainbow armbands symbolizing equality and inclusion. Looking ahead to the World Cup in Qatar, the DFB has set its sights on New Zealand and Australia, which are seen as friendly places for the LGBTQ+ community. However, if conditions do not permit, the German team will wear specific armbands in accordance with FIFA regulations.

"The rainbow armband has always been deeply embedded in our hearts," expressed Fuchs Tecklenburg, the head coach of the German women's soccer team. "We are actively engaging in exchanges with other countries in order to effectively convey the relevant message."
