In 2010, at the age of 11, Li Yueru was sent to the Jiaozuo Amateur Basketball School in Henan Province to practice basketball.In 2011, Li Yueru was discovered by coaches from the Dongguan Basketball School and traveled to Dongguan to learn basketball.In 2015, Li Yueru won the award for the best lineup in the U16 Women's Basketball Asian Youth Championship.
