On March 28, 2023, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) will unveil the entry qualification list for the professional league, by which time the Chinese Super League is expected to be downsized to 16 teams. According to an in-depth analysis by Tonight News, the streamlining of the Chinese Super League teams, instead of being a hindrance, is expected to improve the overall quality.

Prior to this, the Football Association has been published in stages "debt clearance club list", 18 Chinese Super League clubs are listed, but this does not mean that they can easily be among the list of access. Currently, there are at least two Chinese Super League clubs whose future is uncertain because of debt problems or difficulties in meeting entry standards, with Guangzhou City and Kunshan teams in a particularly worrisome situation.

If nothing else, the Football Association (FA) will unveil the qualification lists for the 2023 professional leagues this week. Tonight newspaper pointed out that reducing the number of teams is actually a good medicine for the Chinese Super League, at least to ensure the quality of the league and minimize the "poor" performance of individual teams.
