As the end of the month approaches, Nicolae Stanciu, the Wuhan Tri-City foreign star, will be on his way home to prepare for the intense competition at Euro 2024. The Romanian media are concerned about the situation of Stanciu, who has not appeared in an official match since the end of last year, fearing that his fitness is in jeopardy. However, the president of the Romanian Football Federation (RFR), Razvan Buleanu, has taken it in his stride, expressing high satisfaction with Stanciu's upcoming early check-in and special training sessions.

A leading figure in Romanian soccer, Stanciu wrote the "Kaiserslautern Miracle" during last season's trip to Wuhan, leading the team to a historic breakthrough. Despite having won the Bundesliga, Czech Liga, Ligue 1 and Chinese Super League, Stanciu's choice was not so wise in the eyes of national team coach Jorda Nescu.
In an interview, Jordǎnescu bluntly stated that he did not agree with Stanciu's decision to join Wuhan Sanzhen, but as the head coach of the national team, he could only accept and understand the choice. Stancho was called up for the first time by Jordǎnescu as captain for the UEFA Nations League last September.
At the end of this month, the Romanian team will face Andorra and Belarus in European qualifiers. In light of the injury to captain Kirikesh, Iordanescu plans to build the core of the attack around Stanciu and may even keep him as captain. Football Association president Brălăianu also confirmed the arrangement and said that Stanciu will arrive in Bucharest early to undergo special training with the national team.
Burleanu also mentioned that Kirikesh will be out of training due to injury, which is a big loss for the national team. They expect Kirikesh to be healthy enough to return to the national team in June. At the same time, they also hope that no other player from the national team will be injured.
