March 7, BST - The U20 Asian Cup group stage is in full swing, with Vietnam facing off against Iran in the third round. Earlier, Vietnam had won two matches in a row to accumulate six points. However, Australia led the goal difference with a 9-1 win over Qatar. Unfortunately, Vietnam lost 1-3 against Iran and ended up in third place despite two wins in the group stage.

Vietnam U20 had a strong performance at the Asian Cup, with their fighting spirit and technical and tactical level reaching the top level in Asia. Despite a record of two wins and one loss, similar to Australia, they unfortunately failed to qualify on goal difference. In the first round of the group stage of the Asian Cup, Vietnam sealed the victory and opened the U20 Asian Cup with a goal from Nguyen Quoc Viet in just six minutes. Then, facing Qatar, Vietnam once again won with a score of 2-1, showing strong strength.

However, in the final round of matches against Iran, Vietnam failed to advance to the group stage, which came as quite a surprise. There were two main reasons for this: firstly, Vietnam unexpectedly lost to Iran; and secondly, Australia beat Qatar by a huge 9-1 margin, dramatically increasing their goal difference, resulting in Vietnam finishing third in the group due to a goal difference disadvantage.

Iran defeated Qatar in the first round of the tournament but lost to Australia 2-3 in the second round. If Australia is used as a reference, Vietnam is capable of beating Iran. In the young ladder teams of Asian countries, there is not much difference in strength, and the key lies in tactical use and performance.

In the final match between Iran and Vietnam, the Iranian team showed a strong offense right from the start. In the 35th minute, Iran's center back Hasebavi scored a goal to give Iran the lead. In the 56th minute, Vietnam's Qu Van Khang equalized the score. However, Iran's Saeed scored again in the 75th minute. Iran then scored again on a counter-attack opportunity to beat Vietnam 3-1 and advance to the knockout stage.

Although Vietnam failed to advance to the group stage in this year's Asian Championship, their fighting spirit was impressive. Especially in the match against Iran, despite being behind at one point, the Vietnamese team did not give up but actively organized their attack. Their fighting spirit and tactical level were no less than that of the Iranian team. Vietnam not only has excellent technology, but also has a perfect youth training system, its soccer development is worth learning from Chinese soccer.
