The Chinese Football Association (CFA) is plotting a bold plan aimed at accelerating the integration of foreign coaching teams with local players, journalists have revealed. In the plan, former international star Zheng Zhi, who was the coach of the Guangzhou team and captain of the national team, will be invited to serve as the national coach, while former international player Chen Tao will also join the coaching ranks. And current U20 captain and former international star Shao Jiayi, is expected to become the new national team captain.
Looking back to Li Xiaopeng's coaching period, Zheng Zhi has stepped into the national team coaching team. He not only attended the selection meeting as a coaching expert, but also became a model in the industry with his rich experience at the age of 43. Shao Jiayi, who is about the same age as him, has accumulated valuable management wisdom during his training with the national team. The two will energize the Yankovic team with their expertise.
According to this plan, the men's soccer team will assemble in Haikou from March 1st to 2nd. The management has shortlisted around 50 alternative international players based on national team and league performances in recent years. Yankovic's coaching team will select less than 30 of them for intensive training, and the selection will be revealed in the near future. Obviously, the national team's lineup will undergo a major reshuffle after Jankovic's arrival. Veterans have faded out after the last World Qualifier, and it will take time to see if Jankovic can succeed.
The CFA will also seize the opportunity of training in Haikou to organize a press conference in early March, when Jankovic will make his first media appearance as head coach of the national football team.
