With only one month left, the culmination of the men's soccer team's international tournament is about to take place. However, the official selection of the head coach of the Chinese men's national team has not yet been announced, but the list of candidates has begun to emerge. It is reported that the CFA has already decided to let Jankovic take over Li Xiaopeng's position, only waiting for the approval of the senior management can be revealed.
Looking back to last March, the figure of the national team in the public eye is gradually disappearing, so far there has been nearly a year of "silence". During this period, the Association's limited funds, it is difficult to hire such as Queiroz, Ola Royo, Paulo Bento and other foreign coaches in the Asian soccer community is quite famous, resulting in the selection of the national team coaches once in a stalemate.
Recently, the Football Association held a coach selection meeting in Foshan, and after some discussion, it was finalized that Yankovic, who had coached the Asian Games, would take the helm of the national team, while the rest of the coaches would lead the team to the Asian Games. In this regard, media person Li Xuan said that the coach selection results should be recognized in principle, but the final resolution needs to be reported to the higher level units for approval.
In fact, it is difficult for the Football Association to attract top foreign coaches, but some Asian coaches, such as Vietnam's meritorious soccer coach Park Hang-wook, have attracted their attention by virtue of their average salaries.
Park Hang-wook revealed that he plans to retire in the next two to three years when he resigned from his position as Vietnam coach, according to Football Daily. The South Korean coach gave his response when asked if he would consider coaching the Chinese men's soccer team.
Earlier, Vietnamese media broke the news that Park Hang-wook was interested in taking over the Chinese men's soccer team and had contacted the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and was waiting for a reply. However, it seems that the CFA is not inclined to invite the coach who has disgraced the Chinese men's soccer team, and instead opted for an internal promotion, allowing Jankovic, who coached the U24 Asian Games, to be the head coach of the national team.
Compared to Jankovic, Park Hang-wook is a better coach. His coaching achievements in Vietnam's men's football are well documented, including leading the team to the second place in the U23 Asian Cup, the gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games, the Southeast Asian Championships, as well as leading Vietnam's national team to its first-ever entry into the Asian 12 of the World Qualification Tournament, and making Vietnam's men's history by leading the team to beat the Chinese men's football team at home by 3-1 in last year's 12-team tournament.
Perhaps for the sake of saving face, the CFA has finally decided to let Jankovic, not Li Xiaopeng, lead the team in the new World Qualifier and Asian Cup. Unsurprisingly, the FA will officially announce the new head coach at the beginning of March, and is only awaiting final approval.
