With the instant bursting of the gold dollar soccer bubble, the once dominant soccer player Guangzhou Evergrande (Guangzhou team) retired in disgrace. Faced with the plight of a broken financial chain, Guangzhou's big-name foreign aiders, naturalized stars and popular international players have left the nest.

Currently, among the remaining 7 naturalized players of Guangzhou team, only Jiang Guangtai is still sticking to the Chinese Super League, however, he has moved to Shanghai Port. The remaining six naturalized players have returned to their homeland, including Xiao Tao Tao, who completed the naturalization process last month and officially regained his Peruvian citizenship.

Immediately after Xiao Tao-tao, the departure of the second naturalized player will also come true. This player is none other than Golat, who had been successfully naturalized four years ago, but has not played a single game for the national football team.

Recently, several Brazilian sports media outlets broke the news that Gallart's naturalization process is in the final stages. If there is no accident, Golatt will regain Brazilian nationality in the next 1-2 months. In the process of naturalization, Golat only needs to pay 250 RMB, of which 50 RMB are collected by the Brazilian civil affairs department and the remaining 200 RMB are notary fees.

Golat, 32, stepped into the Chinese Super League in 2015, joining Guangzhou Evergrande for an astronomical transfer fee of 15 million euros, the highest in the Chinese Super League at the time.

During his time with Evergrande, Golat helped the team win three Chinese Super League trophies. He also became a key naturalization target for Evergrande after the Chinese Football Association (CFA) launched a naturalization program. It is conservatively estimated that Evergrande invested at least 400 million RMB to convince Golat to become a naturalized player.

At the beginning of 2019, Gaolat completed the naturalization process and officially became a Chinese player. However, he failed to qualify to represent the national team as he did not fulfill the five-year residency requirement in China.

Against the backdrop of Evergrande's financial woes and wage arrears, Golat was the first to break his contract with Guangzhou early last year and return to Brazil, joining Barclays Premier League side Santos on a free. However, Golat's low form was swept away by Santos in the summer of last year and transferred to Bahia in the Barclays Premier League.

In order to get rid of his foreign aid status, Gallart started working on withdrawing his Chinese citizenship and regaining his Brazilian citizenship last year. Now, the process of withdrawal is almost complete and he will soon become a Brazilian citizen again.

In other words, the hundreds of millions of dollars Evergrande invested in Golat's naturalization are now going down the drain, and he hasn't even played a single international match for his national team. What's even more ironic is that after spending 400 million dollars in the Chinese Super League, Golat only had to pay 250 RMB.

In the past few years, under the impetus of the Football Association, the Chinese Super League clubs have spent a lot of money to naturalize many foreign players, but few of them can play for the national team in the world preliminaries, and their performance in the world preliminaries is not satisfactory.

It is evident that Chinese soccer has paid a heavy price in terms of results and money in the FA's failed naturalization program. Only agents and FA insiders have profited from it. We can't help but ask, who should bear the responsibility for the failure of the national football naturalization program? Can Chen Xuyuan, Liu Yi and Li Tie take up this responsibility?
