In preparation for the Asian Games team, the CFA held a coaching selection meeting in Foshan to facilitate team training and warm-up matches for the management of the Football Association and members of the expert group, including Xu Genbao and Shen Xiangfu, etc. In the afternoon of February 13th, the Asian Games team battled with Chinese B-team Dandong Tengyue for 70 minutes, and the final match ended in a 1-1 draw. After a series of processes, the CFA will officially announce the results of the coaching selection.

By then, if Jankovic is confirmed to take charge of the national soccer team, the Asian Games team will need to find a new head coach.
The Asian Games team has left Guangzhou for Dubai on the afternoon of February 14, and Jankovic will lead the team's active preparations before his official appointment is announced.
