On February 10, 2023, Guoan player Li Ke made a public statement in social networks, expressing his sincere gratitude to his former home team Arsenal for their selfless assistance in his recovery process.
Li Ke has not played for Guoan since his injury last year as a naturalized player. After a rehabilitation period at Arsenal, he is now back at Guoan and will be put into the preparation for the new season as a trial player.
Li Ke took to social media to post photos of his recovery at Arsenal and fondly recalled, "These 18 months have certainly been challenging and difficult times for me. With the support of Arsenal, I overcame unprecedented adversity. I have undergone three surgeries during this period and I would like to thank the club for their continued support in my recovery and career path.
My heartfelt thanks go to everyone at Arsenal who opened their doors to me for training and worked alongside me on a daily basis. Especially Arteta, Mertesacker, Wilshere and my colleagues in the medical team.
I would also like to give a special thanks to Singh, whom I have known for more than a decade and for the past 18 months you have been like a brother to me, caring for me in every way. You have always inspired me to move forward when I needed help the most, and your gratitude is hard to put into words.
When I return to my home country, I will continue to devote myself to training with full enthusiasm and give my best for the upcoming Chinese Super League.
