On February 12, 2023, a battle for Xinjiang's soccer glory was staged at the 2023 National Futsal Championship. In the third and fourth place finals, Xinjiang Jinghong defeated the powerful Shenzhen Nanling Iron Wolves - the 2022 Futsal Champions - with a thrilling score of 5:4, and successfully lifted the third place trophy, a feat that also added a colorful chapter to the annals of Xinjiang's soccer history!
Back in 2015, the Xinjiang Normal University soccer team started its journey to the national futsal tournament. As of December 2022, this team has sent nine outstanding international players to the Chinese Futsal National Team, and without exception, all of these players have come from universities.
In 2022, with strong support from the Xinjiang Football Association, Xinjiang Jinghong Football Club, formed by core members of the Xinjiang Normal University soccer team, made a historic breakthrough in the Futsal Super League, achieving an outstanding seventh place. Just two months later, they renewed a new legend by once again refreshing the best performance of Xinjiang Futsal in a national tournament.
