
The Chinese women's soccer team is getting busier and busier in Guangzhou as the morning sun shines. The hands are pointing to February 10th, when the team will embark on a series of warm-up matches in Spain. These matches are not only a warm-up for the 2023 Women's World Cup, but also an all-out sprint to qualify for the Asian Games in Hangzhou and the Olympic Games in Paris.
The latest news from the State General Administration of Sports reveals that the Chinese women's soccer team will meet the challenge of Spain's Real Betis women's soccer team on February 14th, followed by Sweden's women's soccer team on February 16th, then Vivar's women's soccer team in Spain on February 19th, and finally Ireland's women's soccer team on February 22nd. It's one game after another, a packed and challenging schedule.
In Guangzhou, the closest city to the tournament, the Chinese women's soccer team is undergoing the second phase of intensive winter training. The 34-player training roster is notable for the presence of overseas players. Wang Shuang, a former player with the Louisville Athletic women's soccer team in the U.S., and Tang Jiali, who played for CFF Madrid, have joined the domestic training ranks. In addition, six players, including Li Mengwen and Zhang Linyan, will travel with the team to Spain to join them for the next challenge.
