On February 6, the southern region of Turkey was hit by a shocking earthquake with frequent aftershocks and tremors. In this disaster, Li Jiayue, a Chinese women's soccer player playing in the Turkish Super League, was also unfortunately affected. However, the god of luck did not completely leave her, and she updated her recent situation on social media in time.
Looking back to February 2022, Li Jiayue won the glorious glory of the Asian Cup with her teammates as the main center back of our women's soccer team.
At the beginning of this year, Li Jiayue embarked on the journey of Galatasaray women's soccer team in Turkey, becoming the 13th player of our study abroad women's soccer team. In the process of gradually integrating into the new team, she won the trust of the coaching team with her excellent performance and successive starting chances.
According to official determinations by the China Earthquake Network, as many as four earthquakes struck Turkey on Feb. 6 at 09:17, 09:28, 18:24 and 20:02 Beijing time, with magnitudes of up to 5.9 and a depth of 20 kilometers.

That afternoon, women's international soccer player Li Jiayue recorded a video revealing that she traveled with the team to the away game in Adana, a stone's throw from the epicenter of the earthquake. At 4am, she was awakened in her sleep by the shock of her house about to collapse, and was then evacuated with the whole team in an emergency, with many of her teammates losing their voices in the panic.
When the 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck again, Li Jiayue posted on her personal Twitter account, "I almost collapsed after a violent aftershock and blizzard on my way to escape."
We were evacuated from the Adana Hotel before the magnitude 8 aftershock and are now on our way to Ankara," she recounts with difficulty in the video. However, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake also struck Ankara and the bad weather, heavy snow and strong winds on the highway were suffocating. I don't know what will happen next, I just hope everyone is safe."
