After a preparatory trip to the United Arab Emirates, the 2003-born U20 national football team arrived in Zagreb, Croatia, on the night of Feb. 2. At noon on Feb. 3, the team started a warm-up training in the area. According to the established arrangement, the team will start a series of warm-up matches in Croatia in the next three weeks.
Earlier, the U20 national football team had a two-week training session in Dubai, UAE. During this time, the team played five warm-up matches against the UAE, Oman and Syria's U20 team, with one win, two draws and two losses. Despite the unsatisfactory results, the team was highly praised by Coach Antonio for its strict implementation of tactical requirements and strong team spirit and will to fight during the matches. From the score, even though the team suffered a defeat, the gap with the opponent was only one point, and there was no collapse. If the details of offense and defense can be improved, the result of the game may be more ideal.
After the final warm-up match against the Syrian U20s on January 28, the U20s continued to train locally for a few more days due to flights and other factors, and embarked on their journey to Croatia on February 2nd.
It is planned that the U20 national soccer team will train in Croatia for about three weeks. The official Chinese soccer social media platform revealed that during the period in Croatia, the team will schedule two to three training sessions per day in addition to warm-up days. This phase of overseas training is undoubtedly a severe test for the team. It is reported that the next U20 national football team will have a number of warm-ups with the same age teams in Croatia, Slovenia, Lithuania and local club ladders.
