Sportsweek has revealed that Malcolm, the Super League's goal-scoring king, has revealed his longing for Saudi soccer to Brazilian journalist Kike Andrade after his move to Jeddah Nationals.
"I had won the Sub-League crown with Gyeongnam FC in South Korea and finished second in the K-League the following year; on my return to China, Wuhan Three Town won the title and last year we built on that success by winning the Chinese Super League. Now I'm part of a grand plan to lead a top club forward. Although this is the second tier league, who can say in the future, maybe we can ask for the title as well." Malcolm has this outlook.
As for his personal goals, Malcolm makes no secret of his ambition, "I aspire to be the best player in Ronaldo's national league."
Before making the decision to join Jeddah, Malcolm spoke to Talisca, who was victorious in Riyadh, "I spoke to Talisca. Now that he is in the same team as Ronaldo, he sent me an inspiring message." Malcolm revealed, "Saudi Arabia is my third league (excluding Brazil), but who wouldn't want to compete with Ronaldo? Here, I aspire to be the best player, no matter who the opponent is.
At the peak of his powers at the age of 28, Malcolm is not even considering returning to Brazil or heading to Europe. "Right now, my goal is Saudi Arabia, to get the best out of my new team and the championship. I will never stop pursuing goals. In the future, I don't rule anything out."
Malcolm attributes his excellent performance last season to the physical training and physical preparation in China. "I think that was the key to my evolution and it was that preparation that made me perform better. I worked hand in hand with my physical trainer and physiotherapist for almost three months to finally get to the best version of myself. It was my peak year, I gave it my all and the dedication led to great things. 2022 will be a brilliant year indeed!"
