As the 2022 season comes to a close, Chinese Super League giants Beijing Guoan have kicked off a complete overhaul of their squad, with at least seven homegrown players facing contract expirations with no hope of renewal. One of the team's four foreigners from last season, Mehmetsevic, has moved to West Asia, while Adebenelo looks set to bid farewell to the team next season.
Even though Guoan's transfer ban has not yet been lifted, the club has not been slacking off. While Fang Hao joined the club, general manager Li Ming flew to Europe last week in search of fresh blood for the team.
Although Li Ming stayed in Europe for some time, the news of Guoan's introduction of a new foreign aid was delayed. However, Mr. Li accidentally facilitated another big event during this trip - the joining of his son, Li Si Rong. Danish Super League club Vaalø BK recently officially announced that Li Si Rong will join the team.
The 20-year-old Li Si Rong inherited his father's soccer talent and has been trained professionally since childhood. Unlike his father's position on the pitch, he mainly plays as a right back.
Despite his outstanding ball skills, Li Si Rong's thin physique made defense not his strong suit. However, Li Ming still used his connections to secure a place for his son in the Euroleague. In 2019, at the age of 16, Li Si Rong joined the U17 youth team of Dutch club The Hague.
Two years later, Li Si Rong officially joined The Hague and started his soccer career. Although he was initially unknown in China, with the hype from the domestic media, his high face value quickly became popular in China and even became a star in the entertainment industry.
In contrast to his high profile, Li Si Rong's skills are slightly mediocre. In his two years at The Hague club, he has only made four appearances each in the U18 and U21 leagues, all as a substitute. It is clear that he does not yet have the ability to make a name for himself in the Dutch league and will have to seek development in other countries' leagues.
Soon after, Li Si Rong found a new home in the Danish Premier League - FC Vaal. Recently, Li Ming went to Europe on a business trip. In addition to looking for foreign aid for Guoan, he also helped his son look for a new owner, so Li Si Rong was able to join Vaëlle without any problems.
Many Beijing fans have been critical of Li Ming, believing that he is using his official position for personal gain. In fact, this is not the first time that Li Ming has been questioned by Guoan fans. at the end of 2021, when the Chinese Super League was coming to an end, he traveled to Holland to accompany his son for Christmas, which led to a number of expiring players not being able to renew their contracts in a timely manner, and Barton ultimately joined Tianjin Jinmen Tiger.
As for which new foreign aid will be brought in by Guoan next season, there is no definite news yet, and it is no wonder that the Beijing fans are full of doubts about Li Ming. We sincerely hope that Guoan will solve the problem of salary arrears as soon as possible and lift the transfer ban imposed by FIFA, so that they can bring in new assistance and be fully prepared for next season's Chinese Super League.
