In the 2023 season, Moises won the renewal of his contract with the Taishan team with a bright statistic of 13 goals and 16 assists in the Chinese Super League, as well as a double in the FA Cup final to be elected the best player. His tacit understanding with Cressan is a central position in the team.
Since joining Taishan in July 2019, the 31-year-old Moises has spent three and a half years with the club, winning the FA Cup three times and the Chinese Super League title once. In the 2022 season, he even became the first player in the team's history to record a double-double in both goals and assists in a single season.
The original contract expired in mid-2022 and the two sides extended it a year early. Now, buoyed by the FA Cup victory, Taishan have renewed Moises' contract once again, with a new deal until July 2024, which will see him play for Taishan for at least a year and a half. With the implementation of the New Year's Eve format of the AFC Champions League, Moises' decision to extend his contract for a year in August 2023 and May 2024 seems wise.
Faced with a contract extension, Moises frankly rejected two West Asian contracts and revealed that his family was willing to come to China with him. He expressed his gratitude for the support of the fans and the atmosphere of the team, and thus chose to stay for another year to help Taishan create more glory.
In 2023, Moises will be 35 years old, which is a new challenge for him. He is known for his self-discipline and hard work, practicing consistently twice a day with physical consolidation training in the mornings and hiring a physical trainer to assist him with his training in Brazil.
Moises has taken responsibility for his career and physical recovery program, which has been key in keeping him at a high level. The new season is still something to look forward to as he and Kressan work well together. For the future, he is also interested in studying for a coaching certificate to prepare for the future, if not to become a coach.
