In the stormy sports world, a piece of news on the 9th attracted widespread attention - the FIFA Referee Committee officially unveiled the referee lineup for the 2023 Women's World Cup, in which China's referee Xie Lijun was honored to be selected as an assistant referee.

This highly anticipated soccer feast will be staged from July 20 to August 20 in both Australia and New Zealand. In the list of referees released by FIFA, there are 33 referees, 55 assistant referees and 19 video assistant referees, which is a luxurious lineup.

Assistant referee Xie Lijun, from Sichuan, has made numerous appearances in domestic and international matches thanks to her superb enforcement skills and has been involved in a number of domestic and international tournaments in 2022, including enforcement duties at the U17 Women's World Cup.

For its part, FIFA emphasized that all the selected candidates are referees who have excelled in recent years in both international and domestic competitions, and that each referee has undergone a rigorous review and selection process.

It is worth mentioning that Chinese referees Ma Ning, Shi Xiang and Cao Yi also represented our country for the first time in refereeing at the Men's Football World Cup 2022 in Qatar, marking a brand new chapter for our referees in the international arena. Among them, Ma Ning served as the fourth official for six group matches, while Shi Xiang and Cao Yi added a new chapter to China's soccer refereeing honor roll by serving as alternate referees for three matches.
