On January 9, when the 2022 Chinese Super League came to an end and Wuhan Sanzhen was crowned with glory, its head coach Pedro talked about his journey to winning the title on the Football Night program. Facing the camera, Pedro confessed that even if Jinmen Tigers and Guoan had not withdrawn from the game, Wuhan Sanzhen would not be afraid of the challenge.

Speaking about the moment of winning the title, Pedro was overwhelmed with emotion: "Winning the title at home was undoubtedly a wonderful and splendid moment. We envisioned that even though Tianjin Jinmen Tigers and Beijing Guoan were at full strength, we were confident that we would not be afraid to fight for the title in the final round. The many unforeseen variables in the season have made this a very difficult year."

Pedro laughs to himself, "Maybe you don't know much about me. When I first came to China, I was just a youth training consultant for the U18s and U15s, and I was picked up by Wuhan Sanzhen FC to be their youth training director. After temporarily taking over the S.A. team, I helped the team jump up to the Chinese Super League and achieve such brilliant results, which is beyond imagination. If I were to self-evaluate by success criteria, I would give myself a score of 8-9. We have achieved remarkable results, but there is still room for growth."
