As the 2022 season of the Chinese Super League came to an end, Wuhan Tri-Town was crowned the champion in glory on January 9th. Not long ago, Pedro, the head coach of Wuhan Sanzhen, talked about his journey to winning the title on the Football Night program. He said that even if Jinmen Tigers and Guoan had not opted out of the tournament, Wuhan Sanzhen was full of confidence and welcomed the championship without fear.
Speaking about the team's journey to the championship, Pedro was emotional: "It's wonderful to win the championship in one game at home. We expect both Tianjin Jinmen Tigers and Beijing Guoan to give it their all in the final round, but we are confident that we will be able to cope with the fierce competition. This season, with many unforeseen factors intertwined, has indeed been tough and unusual."
Pedro also shared his professional experience, revealing: "You may not be familiar with my past. When I first started in Chinese football, I was just a youth training consultant for the U18 and U15 teams, but I was accidentally invited by Wuhan Sanzhen FC to be their youth training director. I temporarily took over the Central League team and helped the team jump up to the Chinese Super League. This season, we achieved such a brilliant result, which was unimaginable in the past. Personally, I give myself a score of 8 to 9. What we have achieved is satisfactory, but we still need to keep improving."
