In an exciting announcement, the Shaanxi Chang'an Central League soccer team officially announced that former glory player Wang Baoshan will assume the position of head coach of the first team. The legend, who has written a colorful chapter in Shaanxi's soccer history, was not only a member of the team, but also the first player in Shaanxi's history to go global.

Officials from Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic Club revealed that after thorough consideration by the club's board of directors, Mr. Wang Baoshan will be at the helm of Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic Daqinshui's first-team squad with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Feng Feng, the acting coach for the 2021 season, will be promoted to captain of the first team. Born in April 1963, Mr. Wang Baoshan started his soccer journey at Baoji Sports School.

In 1980, he joined the Shaanxi Provincial Football Team with a brilliant shot and was honored to become a member of the Chinese National Team in 1986, becoming the first international player in the history of Shaanxi soccer. After his retirement, Wang Baoshan started his coaching career with the Xi'an team, and his nearly 30 years of coaching experience has witnessed the stormy course of China's soccer professionalization. He has worked as a coach in many professional clubs such as Yunnan Hongta, Jiangsu Shuntian, Chengdu Sheffield United, Chongqing Lifan, Shenzhen Jiazhaoye, Henan Jianye, Tianjin Teda, etc., and has accumulated rich coaching experience in the top league. In many seasons, he led his team to successfully complete key tasks such as relegation and won numerous honors. In addition, Wang Baoshan has coached a number of national teams and is a leader in the domestic soccer coaching community, and was awarded the position of Technical Committee Member of the CFA in 2021.
