December 22, a remarkable news in the sports world set off waves: compared with the previous year, our national soccer team in the international arena rankings do not rise but fall, even fell six places.
Looking back to the end of 2021, our soccer team is set at 74th place globally and eighth within Asia.
However, in the newly released 2022 World Football Rankings, our soccer team slipped to 80th place, a full six places down from last year; in the Asian region, the ranking also slipped to 11th place, down three places from last year, overtaken by three teams - Iraq, Oman and Uzbekistan.
