At the online meeting on the 3rd, the CFA and the preparatory group released a notice to the public on the work related to the 2022 Chinese Super League, Chinese A League and Chinese B League. The document detailed the list of clubs admitted to the three leagues, and proposed specific solutions and penalties for the problem of unpaid wages of clubs.
In the year 2022, 18, 17 and 22 clubs from each of the Chinese Super League, Chinese First Division and Chinese Second Division passed the access audit, Xinhua reported. However, Guizhou Chinese First Division Football Club and Sichuan Folk Football Club failed to gain access for the new season because they did not meet the relevant conditions. Among them, the Guizhou club was affected by international wage arrears that were not resolved within the stipulated period, while the Sichuan folk football club was affected by its failure to submit access materials on time.
It is worth mentioning that Jinan Xingzhou Football Club, Nantong Haimen Kedeyuan Football Club, Tai'an Tianyun Football Club, Hainan Star Professional Football Club and Wuhan Jiangcheng Football Club, all of which performed well in the previous season of the Chinese Champions League, have thus gained access to the second league for the new season.
The CFA preparatory team will further finalize the teams for the professional leagues at all levels based on the participation of clubs. In response to the problem of wage arrears in the 2022 professional soccer league, the CFA has introduced a series of measures to protect the rights and interests of players and to urge clubs to improve their business conditions.
The solution issued by the FA sets out a clear repayment timetable for clubs with salary arrears and stipulates that all salary arrears for the 2021 season and before need to be resolved by December 31, 2022. For clubs that fail to settle salary arrears on time, the FA will impose appropriate penalties, including a ban on registering new players, deduction of league points, and relegation or disqualification from admission.
In addition, the FA also requires clubs to refrain from new wage arrears within the 2022 season, and puts forward strict timeframes and filing requirements for clubs that have not resolved wage arrears. If clubs fail to resolve wage arrears within the specified time, they will face corresponding penalties.
