On November 22, in Canberra, the capital of Australia, Chinese women's soccer player Wu Chengshu revealed in an interview that Coach Shui Qingxia expects her to make a breakthrough in the defensive end.
Faced with the decision to go abroad, Wu Chengshu frankly said: "This is a major career challenge, equivalent to crossing the comfort zone. The Asian Cup came to an end, and Tang Jiali returned home lamenting the significant improvement, both in terms of confrontation and other aspects. I'm eager to experience such growth for the sake of a broader space for development, in order not to be left behind by the rapid progress of European women's soccer."
On choosing Australia, Wu Chengshu said, "The league here is competitive and of a high standard, and I am expected to get consistent game time. More importantly, we were able to pre-acclimatize to the World Cup venue and environment, which will be beneficial for next year's tournament."
Talking about the support of the Jiangsu Women's Football Team and the Football Association, Wu Chengshu said gratefully, "Before I left, the head coach of the Jiangsu Women's Football Team saw me off after my last game. (Both the FA and the club have given me great support, and I feel that there is a strong backing behind me. Coach Shui Qingxia hopes that I can quickly integrate into my new environment and that I can improve on defense."
