In the second round of the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Cup on Nov. 18, Beijing Guoan failed to move on after a penalty shootout, defeating Jingchuan Wenhui 3-5, an unexpected result that was sobering.
Senior soccer commentator Zhu Yi analyzed: "I am not surprised by this. The overall level of Chinese soccer is not high, the national team to win the championship is not a stable phenomenon, the Chinese Super League is even more so. Jingchuan Wenhui, although most of the players background professional, but the outside world is not as pessimistic as imagined. After years of ups and downs and changes, the league system is gradually maturing, the strength of professional teams has increased, and some teams even have the strength to compete for the first division championship."
In fact, I previously knew very little about Jingchuan Wenhui. Now, the loss of Guoan's team has certainly added more color to the conversation of this matchup.
It was a scene that set the stage on the field and left a lasting impression on the fans.
