This season, 18 clubs gathered in the China B-League, which is divided into two competitive phases. In the first stage, the 18 teams were divided into three groups of six teams each to play a double round robin, with the top two teams advancing to Group A and the last four dropping to the Relegation Group. Jinan Xingzhou became the first Central League One team in the history of professional soccer in Jinan. Last year, the team won the championship for the first time and was promoted to Class B. Formerly known as Dandong Hantong, Dandong Tengyue was promoted to China B in 2020 after finishing ninth in the Champions League. Last year, the team changed its name to Dandong Tengyue and finished 20th in the Central B League. And this year, they jumped to become the runner-up in the Central B.
