In the late afternoon of November 13, 2022, the curtain came down on the China B League. In the final round of the season, Dandong Tengyue and Yanbian Longding embraced each other with a 0-0 scoreline to embark on the journey to the first division. Meanwhile, Jinan Xingzhou locked up the title one round ahead of schedule, adding three more promotion spots to the league. However, Inner Mongolia Grasshopper and Hunan Xiangtao were unlucky to be at the bottom of the two relegation groups and had no choice but to be relegated to the Chinese Champions League.

This season, 18 clubs gathered in the China B-League, which is divided into two competitive phases. In the first stage, the 18 teams were divided into three groups of six teams each to play a double round robin, with the top two teams advancing to Group A and the last four dropping to the Relegation Group. Group A consists of the top two teams from each group, six teams in total, playing a single round robin, with the top three teams earning a place in the 2023 A-League. For the Relegation Group, the 12 teams are divided into two groups of six teams each in a single round robin, with the bottom team going straight down to the 2023 Champions League.

After 15 rounds of 135 matches, the 2022 season of the China B League came to a successful conclusion this afternoon, with the suspense of the first division and relegation revealed one by one. Jinan Xingzhou, Dandong Tengyue, and Yanbian Longding were the top three teams in the first division, successfully qualifying for the 2023 League One. Unfortunately, Inner Mongolia Caoshangfei and Hunan Xiangtao were relegated, but both teams still have a chance to return to the Second Division.

Jinan Xingzhou became the first Central League One team in the history of professional soccer in Jinan. Last year, the team won the championship for the first time and was promoted to Class B. This year, the team won the championship again as a promotion, realizing a triple jump for two consecutive years.

Formerly known as Dandong Hantong, Dandong Tengyue was promoted to China B in 2020 after finishing ninth in the Champions League. Last year, the team changed its name to Dandong Tengyue and finished 20th in the Central B League. And this year, they jumped to become the runner-up in the Central B. Dandong Tengyue not only became the first professional club in the history of Dandong professional soccer, but also wrote a new chapter.
