A new chapter opens! China's women's soccer team added a new member to study abroad - 26-year-old international footballer Wu Chengshu officially announced on November 10th to join Australia's women's soccer team Canberra United, a move that marks the expansion of China's women's soccer team's overseas study lineup to 12 people.

Wu Chengshu's New Journey

On the pitch, Wu Chengshu plays a central role in the midfield, and she helped Jiangsu Women's Football Team win the second place in the FA Women's Super League in the 2021 season. In this year's Asian Cup semifinals, she saved the day and helped her team equalize in a crucial match against Japan. This season, Wu Chengshu has played 11 matches for Jiangsu, including 10 starts, scoring four goals and tying with Ni Mengjie as the team's top scorer.

After Ni Mengjie became the first Chinese women's soccer player to land in Australia by joining Adelaide United on loan, Wu Chengshu's joining the team has added another Chinese player to the Australian women's soccer map.

The Australian Women's Premier League will kick off on November 19, 2022 and run until April 2, 2023, it was announced. The top four teams from the regular season will compete in three finals for the title. Canberra United, who finished seventh in the regular season last year, will face Perth at home on Nov. 19 in the first match of the new season.
