
On November 15, the CFA issued a heavy announcement for three teams, Hebei, Wuhan Changjiang and Hunan Xiangtao, to deduct three points each from the 2022 season league points for failing to settle salary arrears on time.
The FA emphasized that in order to strengthen the professional soccer clubs to solve the problem of wage arrears, it has issued a notice of the Chinese Football Association on April 2 about the work related to the 2022 season league, which requires the clubs to solve the problem of at least 30% of the wage arrears before July 31st.
Immediately after that, on July 19, the FA issued another supplementary notice to openly accept complaints from personnel and activated the No. 297 CFA Notice on Openly Accepting Complaints from Relevant Personnel.
After receiving the relevant materials from the clubs and the people who owe wages, the FA will carry out verification to confirm the total amount of wages owed and require the clubs to submit proof of repayment.On August 26, the FA will require the relevant clubs to provide additional materials and proof of payment.
After a review, three teams, Hebei, Wuhan Changjiang and Hunan Xiangtao, failed to follow the regulations, and the Football Association decided to deduct their league points accordingly. According to the notice of the Chinese Football Association on the work related to the 2022 Chinese Super League, Chinese First Division League and Chinese Second Division League, the points of the three teams were deducted.
The FA reiterated that professional soccer clubs must attach great importance to the issue of unpaid wages, and that clubs that do not implement the notice, once verified, will be dealt with seriously in accordance with the law.
